As an Associate Optometrist, you will conduct thorough eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and collaborate with the team to ensure optimal visual health for our patients. Duties Perform detailed eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and physiological functions. Diagnose and manage common and complex eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and pediatric ocular issues. Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, and treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Maintain accurate medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options using clear and compassionate communication. Collaborate with optical staff to recommend appropriate eyewear solutions and assist in sales efforts when necessary. Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment. Stay current with advancements in Optometry, medical terminology, and physiology knowledge to provide evidence-based care. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems efficiently for documentation, scheduling, and follow-up management. Participate in ongoing professional development activities related to medical coding, patient care standards, and new technologies. Experience Prior experience working in Ophthalmology or Optometry clinics with a focus on patient care and optical services. Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and anatomy is essential for accurate diagnosis and documentation. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems used for managing medical records and patient information. Experience in pediatrics is highly desirable for managing young patients effectively. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards ensures confidentiality of sensitive patient data. Strong customer service skills combined with sales experience can enhance patient satisfaction and practice growth. Understanding of medical coding practices related to optometry services supports accurate billing processes.
