We are seeking a skilled and compassionate

  • to serve as an independent contractor conducting
  • Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) disability assessments

    • Key Responsibilities
    • + Perform comprehensive eye exams and visual function evaluations in accordance with VBA protocols + Assess service-connected conditions such as ocular trauma, refractive errors, retinal disease, and other vision-related impairments + Document findings using standardized reporting formats—no treatment or follow-up care required + Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while working with sensitive Veteran health information •?

    • Qualifications
    • + Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution + Active and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the state of service + Prior experience with VA or disability assessments preferred but not required + Strong clinical documentation and interpersonal skills + Commitment to respectful, Veteran-centered care
