Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Associate Optometrist, where your expertise will directly impact patients' vision health and overall well-being. In this vital role, you will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and provide personalized vision care solutions. Responsibilities Conduct thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, eye health, and ocular function. Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and ocular infections. Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, and treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options to promote informed decision-making. Collaborate with optical staff to recommend appropriate eyewear solutions and assist with sales when necessary. Follow aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to ensure patient safety and infection control. Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy of the eye, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye care. Experience with optical equipment, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient documentation. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer service and clear communication. Ability to perform vital signs assessments and interpret clinical data accurately. Familiarity with medical coding practices for billing and insurance processing related to eye care services. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and secure handling of medical records.
