POSITION SUMMARY:
This position examines, diagnoses, treats and manages diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures. This position prescribes eyeglasses and/or contact lenses as necessary and identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. Graduate from an accredited School of Optometry2. Licensed as an optometrist in the State of Hawaii3. 2 years experience in optometric patient care, preferred4. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and supporting/facilitating positive team interaction/development5. Skill and ability to operate varied office equipment6. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and understand verbal and written communications7. Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations8. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time9. Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures10. Ability to act calmly and tactfully in stressful or confrontational situations 11.
