Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Staff Optometrist to join our multidisciplinary care team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive eye and vision care services to a diverse patient population while supporting our mission to advance health equity and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to Boston's communities.Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive eye exams, vision assessments, and treatment plans for patients of all ages Assess and manage acute and chronic eye conditions and eye-related injuries Perform annual eye exams and accurately document findings within the EMR and other required systems Collaborate with opticians regarding lens recommendations, frame selection, and specialty coatings Make referrals to ophthalmology and specialty services when clinically appropriate Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary patient care projects Serve as a resource to providers and staff regarding eye care-related clinical mattersQualifications:
Current licensure in Massachusetts as a therapeutically certified Doctor of Optometry Residency training preferred, or a minimum of three years of optometry experience in a community-based or outpatient setting Current BLS certification Strong knowledge of optometric practice standards and patient-centered care Experience working collaboratively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Comfort working with diverse patient populations in a fast-paced clinical environment Knowledge of computer systems and electronic medical records Join Our Team!
