Job Description

GiaCare Inc. is accepting applications from experienced Optometrists for a future opportunity supporting the Warfighter Refractive Surgery and Ophthalmology Clinic at Keesler Medical Group, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. This position is being recruited in anticipation of contract award. Qualified candidates will be considered for employment upon contract award. About the Opportunity Join an elite military ophthalmology team providing comprehensive optometric care and refractive surgery support to active duty service members, military retirees, and their families. This position supports the Warfighter Refractive Surgery Center by evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients while assisting with the screening and management of PRK, LASIK, and other refractive surgery candidates. Schedule Full-Time Monday-Friday Flexible schedule between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM 9-hour workday including a 1-hour unpaid lunch Up to 80 hours per two-week pay period No on-call Federal holidays observed Responsibilities Perform comprehensive optometric examinations Diagnose and treat diseases and conditions of the eye Evaluate patients for refractive surgery, including PRK and LASIK Manage postoperative refractive surgery patients Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses Utilize advanced ophthalmic diagnostic equipment Coordinate referrals in accordance with military treatment facility policies Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record Participate in patient education and staff training Support acute ophthalmology patients as clinic workload requires Minimum Qualifications U.S. Citizen Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited School of Optometry Current, unrestricted Mississippi license to practice Optometry Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Current Board Certification through the American Board of Optometry Active DEA registration
Either:
Minimum 48 months of general Optometry experience within the past 60 months , OR Minimum 24 months of refractive Optometry experience within the past 48 months Preferred Qualifications Experience in refractive surgery (PRK/LASIK) Strong clinical and patient education skills Experience working in multidisciplinary ophthalmology clinics Why GiaCare?
