As an Optometrist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive eye care to patients across diverse age groups. Your primary objective will be to assess, diagnose, and manage various visual and ocular health conditions to improve patients' quality of life. You will conduct thorough eye examinations, prescribe corrective lenses, and detect eye diseases early to facilitate timely treatment or referral. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, you will ensure holistic patient care and contribute to community eye health education. Your expertise will directly impact patients' vision health, enabling them to maintain optimal visual function and overall well-being.Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school. Valid state optometry license to practice in the United States. Completion of all required clinical internships or residencies. Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment such as slit lamps, retinoscopes, and tonometers.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with geriatric patient populations. Certification in specialty areas such as contact lenses, low vision, or ocular disease. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Advanced training or fellowship in a subspecialty of optometry. Demonstrated ability to participate in community outreach or vision screening programs.Responsibilities:
Perform detailed eye examinations to evaluate visual acuity and ocular health. Diagnose and manage refractive errors, binocular vision anomalies, and eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. Prescribe and fit appropriate corrective lenses including glasses and contact lenses. Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options. Maintain accurate patient records and document clinical findings. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers for advanced care referrals. Stay current with advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education.Skills:

Proficiency with diagnostic instruments and technology is essential for daily patient assessments and monitoring disease progression.
