Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our dynamic team in Corpus Christi. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ophthalmology, patient care, and optical services, with a focus on delivering thorough eye examinations and personalized treatment plans. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' vision and overall well-being through expert diagnosis, treatment, and client communication. Duties Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic patient examinations, including visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and diagnostic imaging using ophthalmic equipment. Diagnose and manage various eye conditions, applying knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and disease states to develop effective treatment plans. Perform contact lens fittings and provide guidance on lens selection, care, and maintenance tailored to individual needs. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to document patient histories, examination findings, and treatment details accurately. Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options while maintaining excellent client communication skills. Operate medical equipment safely and aseptically, adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Collaborate with healthcare providers for ophthalmology referrals or specialized consultations when necessary. Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with medical coding standards and documentation protocols. Requirements Valid licensure as an optometrist with relevant state certification for practicing in Corpus Christi or surrounding areas. Proven experience in optometry practice settings with proficiency in ophthalmic diagnosis and medical treatment procedures. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease management related to eye health. Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as tonometers and other diagnostic tools. Experience operating EMR/EHR systems efficiently while maintaining accurate medical records. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations. Knowledge of contact lens fitting techniques along with customer service expertise to foster positive patient relationships. Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and aseptic techniques necessary for safe clinical practice.
