Job Description

Position Objective:
Paramedics respond to medical emergencies and deliver patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting, on scene and during transport to the hospital. This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. Paramedics also provide care while transporting patients safely between hospitals and care facilities. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Work Static 24 hour shifts 2 days a week. Overtime is available, but never mandatory. Share Driving and patient care responsibilities as applicable. Respond and provide emergency care to the Advanced Life Support level within the parameters of the Carle Health EMS systems Standing Medical Orders. Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures Document patient care utilizing company ePCR platform within 24 hours of rendering care in accordance with state guidelines. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients Perform station details as assigned by the Operations Director. Adhere to the guidance provided in the company handbook and all other policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth by the company. Attend meetings as directed. Attend continuing education monthly (Continuing education attendance is mandatory). Marginal Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Competency Requirements Must obtain and maintain a Florida State Paramedic License, AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and PHTLS or ITLS certifications. Must obtain entry into the Carle Health EMS system. Valid Driver's License Physical Requirements Work without any documented physical restrictions. Ability to perform heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, pushing, and raising objects which will involve lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds on a regular and recurring basis and between 100-200 pounds on an infrequent and emergent basis. Work Environment Routinely works in office environments. Regularly works in outdoor environment with exposure to all types of weather and conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, etc.
