Current KY Paramedic license is required. AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, required. Current motor vehicle operator's license. Summary The Paramedic is a member of the Emergency Services Department and is responsible for providing quality care to each patient. The paramedic will work primarily as part of a team, accountable for the patient care assignment. Specific tasks can be delegated to the paramedic by the MD, or state protocols and include but are not limited to ALS skills, care, and transport of patients (medical, surgical, telemetry, ICU) within Pikeville Medical Center's scope as an inter-facility transfer ambulance. Administers first aid and advanced life support as necessary as directed by adopted protocols and/or physician. Paramedics will function under protocols approved through KBEMS. The paramedic will comply with all appropriate Pikeville Medical Center and Emergency Services Department policies.
