Advertisement Flyer This position performs technical work driving an ambulance, rescuing and transporting the sick and injured, administering emergency medical care, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the EMS Captain and/or EMS Major.

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• General knowledge of equipment and supplies employed in the emergency care of patients and victims of accidents
• Thorough knowledge of the street and road system and physical layout of the county
• Skills in diagnosing a victim's condition and applying emergency medical care
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, associates, patients and their families, other emergency service agencies, and the general public
• Ability to keep records and prepare reports Step 1 - Minimum Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution and Paramedic Certification and three (3) additional job-related certifications Step 2
• High School Diploma or equivalent form an appropriately accredited institution and Paramedic Certification and one (1) year of experience and four (4) additional job-related certifications OR
• Associate Degree from an appropriately accredited institution and Paramedic Certification and four (4) additional job-related certifications Step 3
• High School Diploma or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution and Paramedic Certification and two (2) years of experience and five (5) additional job-related certifications OR
• Associate Degree from an appropriately accredited institution and Paramedic Certification and one (1) year of experience and five (5) additional job-related certifications OR
• Bachelor's Degree from an appropriately accredited institution and Paramedic Certification and five (5) additional job-related certifications Step 4 (Paramedic First Class)
• High School Diploma or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution and Paramedic Certification and three (3) years of experience and (6) job-related certifications OR
• Associate Degree from an appropriately accredited institution and Paramedic Certification and two (2) years of experience and (6) job-related certifications OR
