Job Description

About VMSC Emergency Medical Services VMSC Emergency Medical Services is a nonprofit EMS organization dedicated to making a difference one day, one call, one life at a time. Founded in 1933 by Dr. Frank Boston, a pioneering physician and veteran, VMSC has grown into one of Pennsylvania's leading providers of mobile healthcare . Our purpose is to deliver comprehensive mobile health services and innovative pre-hospital care to the communities of the Delaware Valley. We proudly serve Montgomery, Philadelphia, and Delaware Counties through emergency response, interfacility transport, mobile integrated healthcare, and community paramedicine. Beyond responding to emergencies, we are expanding the scope of EMS by providing preventive and primary care services, community health education, and continuous professional development for our personnel—ensuring that we meet the evolving healthcare needs of the populations we serve. At VMSC, our people are our strength. Guided by our values of Loyalty, Humanity, and Mercy , we foster a culture where providers are supported, careers are developed, and every team member has the opportunity to make a lasting impact. Joining VMSC means becoming part of an innovative, compassionate team that is redefining what mobile healthcare looks like today and for the future. VMSC Emergency Medical Services , is transforming how care is delivered outside the hospital. We provide physician-directed, in-home medical services that extend the reach of EMS beyond 911 response. Our programs include hospital-at-home, chronic disease management, and post-discharge follow-up, bringing care directly to patients when and where they need it most. As a Community Paramedic , you'll use your advanced paramedic skills in a new way — delivering scheduled, patient-centered care in the home and community. Instead of racing from call to call, you'll have the time to build connections, improve outcomes, and partner with physicians and care teams to reduce hospital readmissions and support long-term health. Responsibilities Conduct in-home medical assessments, treatments, and follow-ups under physician-directed protocols. Provide care for patients with chronic conditions, post-acute recovery needs, and urgent-but-not-emergent concerns. Serve as a bridge between EMS, primary care, and specialty providers. Document care in electronic medical records and coordinate with the broader healthcare team. Support patients by connecting them to appropriate resources and follow-up care.
