  • 200 patients/day The professional paramedic exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations.
What You Will Do Provides Safe Patient Care Under Physician Delegation:
Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. ACLS drugs (including drips) using barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administrations. All IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices Cervical collar management External defibrillation Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application Oral airway insertion and removal Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Access Draw blood from ports Other duties as assigned by the care team Additional perks of being a Texas Health Paramedic Benefits include 401k, PTO, medical, dental, Paid Parental Leave, flex spending, tuition reimbursement, Student Loan Repayment Program as well as several other benefits. Here's What You Need High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship, required. 1 year Paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Dept preferred EMT-P
  • Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or LP
  • Licensed Paramedic ACLS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 days of hire required and BCLS
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and PALS
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 90 days of hire required and CPI
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only), within 60 days of hire required.
