American Firefighter Company - EMS is seeking skilled and dedicated Fireline Paramedics (EMTPF) to provide essential emergency medical services (EMS) on active firelines and other physically demanding assignments. This critical role supports the health and safety of personnel in remote and high-stress environments, often serving as the sole medical provider for extended periods. The EMTPF operates under the supervision of a physician medical director and collaborates with incident management teams to provide lifesaving care, ensure safe evacuations, and support fireline operations.
Job Duties:
Provide EMS services on firelines, in remote areas, and under challenging environmental conditions. Operate under the direction of a physician medical director, ensuring all actions align with scope-of-practice guidelines and state licensure. Maintain awareness of fireline operations and adhere to all safety protocols. Use Incident Command System (ICS) terminology, organization, and command structure. Follow established processes and chain of command for collecting, producing, and distributing information. Ensure basic understanding of multichannel radio operation. Use plain language and ICS Terminology Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) Manage Risk Ensure proper refurbishing and resupply of food, water and supplies for the apparatus. Ensure cleanliness of the apparatus including removing trash. Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs), company behavior expectations and other company policies. Training Requirements Required current Paramedic licensee and certifications for the state you are working in. Obtain I-100, IS-700a, S-130, L-180, S-190 certifications prior to start of job.
CPR Work Hours:
On-call June-October or when the season is complete. Hours vary depending on assignment. Qualifications /
