Aurora Bay Area's Paramedic program is based out of our emergency department and personnel work alongside our physicians and nurses. Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Primary start time 9am/9:30am/10am, variable as needed. Every other weekend. Holiday rotation. Call required. What You'll Do Provide basic and advanced life support, assist in emergencies, and monitor changes in patient condition under RN/physician direction. Operate and maintain ambulance vehicles and equipment, performing quality checks, troubleshooting issues, and arranging major repairs. Prepare, administer, and document medications as directed; maintain strict accountability for medication use, waste, and custody. Ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient incidents, procedures, charges, and care activities in the EHR. Communicate effectively in the field, relaying patient information to the healthcare team and coordinating physician and EMS communications. Assist with patient positioning and transport, using safe lifting and movement techniques. Support patient and family education, reinforcing instructions provided by RNs and physicians. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment, following all safety standards, infection control practices, and department policies. Prepare and maintain procedure and work areas, ensuring cleanliness, readiness, and proper equipment setup. Demonstrate age‑appropriate patient care skills, applying growth and development knowledge across the lifespan in accordance with department standards. Qualifications Completion of an accredited or approved program in Emergency Medical Services. A valid drivers license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles, and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic (NREMT - Paramedic) certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic issued by the State of Wisconsin and State of Michigan needs to be obtained within 30 days, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), and CPR/AED for professional rescuers and health care providers certification issued by the American Red Cross. Typically requires 1 year of experience in a paramedic role or appropriate related clinical experience.
