The Patient liaisons act as a representative for patients and their families to inquire about medical and healthcare benefits. This person will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with patients and their families. The patient liaison consults patients to gauge their satisfaction with their care, collect patient information and elevate inquiries or any concerns to the healthcare providers. In order to be successful this person must be compassionate while remaining professional. A good patient liaison maintains positive relationships with patients as well as healthcare providers to successfully mediate information and complaints.
Qualifications & Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with different kinds of people. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare information to the patients and their families. Passion for helping people and providing personalized care. Collect information about the patient's treatment progress. Inform medical and healthcare providers of the patients information and assist with coverage recommendations, patient inquires or complaints. Ability to maintain a high level confidentiality and respect for patients. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma required. Minimum of 1-3 years of working with various medical and healthcare providers. Multi-tasked. Good command of English oral and written. (Bilingual Spanish required). Knowledge of Microsoft Office or other computer systems required. Knowledge of EMR. (E-Clinical Works or similar preferred). Knowledge of medical billing, healthcare insurance.
