The Patient Navigator plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations and an exceptional patient experience. In this role, you'll support both patients and clinical staff by managing front desk activities, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting and processing forms, and assisting with patient communications. Duties/Responsibilities:
Answer all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner Meticulously intake patient information on the phone and record in EMR Greet and attend to patients during check-in, including form completion, insurance and co-pays Schedule appointments, with attention to the complex detail of each patient's plan of care Complete accurate documentation of patient visits Assist with admissions/treatment as per agreed protocols. Liaise between medical practices with discretion and professionalism Professionally assist doctors, staff, visitors, and patients. Establish first contact with patient and deliver a positive patient experience capture and document patient demographics verification Capture and document insurance eligibility verificationCollection of Patient Payments Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to multitask effectively; critical time management skills necessary Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurances Excellent customer service skills Must be fluent in prior-authorizations for procedures and office visits. Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills. Confident professional administrator with superior communication and interpersonal skills Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task Strong organizational, administrative, and planning skills Ability to work under pressure and react effectively to emergency situations Passionate about healthcare excellence Knowledge of standard practices and procedures in medical outpatient field Trustworthy and reliable and a quick learner Ability to act effectively in emergency situations Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask Thrives in fast-paced environment and possess poise to work under pressure Ability to work independently and in teams with different people in various roles Ability to be flexible yet place structure/order in a startup environment Temperament and discipline to handle info with high level of confidentiality Requires strong proficiency in technologyEducation and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree considered. Substantial medical office experience may be considered in lieu of degree At least 3 full years of direct experience as a medical office receptionist in a healthcare settingPhysical Requirements:
