Our clinics are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare for children, supported by a team of experienced healthcare professionals committed to excellence. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual (English/Spanish) Patient Advocate to serve as a vital link between patients, families, and healthcare providers. This role involves ensuring patients receive the highest quality care, navigating complex healthcare systems, and advocating for their needs within a fast-paced hospital or clinical environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and extensive experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals or pediatric care.

Covington location : 7143 Turner Lake Rd NW Ste. 2, Covington, GA 30014 Duties Act as a primary point of contact for patients and families, providing clear guidance on healthcare processes and services. Assist with discharge planning, intake procedures, and case management to facilitate smooth transitions of care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient services, including behavioral health, social work, and hospice care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document interactions accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct utilization review and management to optimize patient care plans in accordance with hospital protocols and insurance requirements. Provide education on medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding systems, and discharge instructions to patients and families. Support patients in navigating managed care plans and insurance processes to ensure coverage and access to necessary treatments. Engage in intake assessments for pediatric patients across various specialties such as
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), trauma centers, or emergency medicine settings. Skills Extensive experience in critical care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine environments. Strong knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and utilization review processes. Background in nursing, social work, behavioral health, or related healthcare fields; pediatric or trauma center experience preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and discharge planning procedures within hospital settings. Excellent bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish; cultural competence is essential. Ability to manage complex cases involving acute care, managed care plans, and utilization management protocols. Demonstrated ability to advocate effectively for diverse patient populations while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
