Responsibilities Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, and the Adult population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone is currently searching for a Patient Advocate.

//www.wellstonehospital.com. The Patient Advocate is responsible for serving in the role of patient advocate for the patients at Wellstone Regional Hospital. In addition, this position also supports Outpatient Transport Operations 20 hours per week. Responsibilities include review of patient/family concerns, initial contact, investigation and attempt to resolve to patient's satisfaction as well as maintaining the grievance binder, data entry into the MIDAS system, and leading a weekly grievance committee. The Patient Advocate will act as the liaison between the complainant and hospital administration/staff. Will be involved in with regulatory agencies as requested related to the grievance process. This position serves as the Civil Rights Coordinator for the building ensuring all duties are meeting regulation 45 CFR 92.7.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

High School Degree or equivalent required.

Experience:

One to three years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure:

Valid driver's license.

Additional Requirements:

CPI and CPR training. Strong computer skills. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours when needed. Ability to work in MIDAS; knowledge of patient regulations; strong communication skills.

Hours of Work:

4 0 hours per week, day shift, and other times as indicated by immediate supervisor.
