Health care helps. For nearly 35 years, Fourth Street Clinic has provided essential health care to individuals experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake City. Joining our team means more than taking a job-you'll be a critical link between our clinics, resource centers, and patients, ensuring medically vulnerable individuals receive timely, compassionate care. Position Overview The Medical Support EMT is a key member of the Outreach Support Team, acting as a liaison between FSC clinics, resource center staff, and patients to address same-day or urgent medical needs. This role differs from traditional EMT positions, requiring strong clinical skills, certifications, and the ability to navigate complex patient care scenarios. The Medical Support EMT collaborates with shelter staff, clinic providers, and onsite medical personnel to respond to emergent or acute health needs and communicates with FSC triage staff to coordinate appropriate healthcare interventions. Core Responsibilities Respond promptly to same-day and urgent medical needs at resource centers throughout Salt Lake County Collaborate with shelter staff, clinic medical providers, and other medical personnel to assess and address patient needs Serve as a liaison between FSC clinics and patients, ensuring continuity of care and follow-up Provide direct patient care in alignment with EMT training and certification standards Communicate effectively with triage and clinical teams regarding patient status, needs, and care options Support outreach and community health initiatives to improve access to healthcare for medically vulnerable populations Maintain compliance with FSC policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare regulations Document patient interactions and interventions accurately and promptly
