Company Overview East Adams Rural Healthcare is Rural Emergency Hospital hospital situated in Ritzville, WA, serving a broad rural community across a 1,500 square mile area. Operated by the Adams County Public Hospital District #2, the organization also manages a local clinic and collaborates with ambulance services to provide comprehensive healthcare access to underserved populations. Overview We are seeking a dedicated Patient Navigator/MA-C to join our healthcare team. The patient navigator works to facilitate a quality, compassionate patient experience during a clinic visits from registration to discharge. The navigator, as a team leader, coordinates care to assure a seamless visit and proactively engages with patients during the experience to address challenges to patient flow and patient care concerns. The patient care navigator provides direct assistance to the care team in the clinic throughout the process to include registration, direct patient care aspects and patient referral and billing inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, medical knowledge, and a compassionate approach to patient care, especially within diverse and underserved communities. The patient navigator reports to the Director of Nursing. Responsibilities Assist patients in understanding their medical conditions, treatment plans, and available resources. Coordinate appointments, follow-up care, and discharge planning to promote seamless patient transitions across services. Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient interactions accurately and efficiently. Collaborate with healthcare providers. Serves as the point of contact to address patient complaints and concerns requiring customer service/recovery Assists with billing; may take payments, assist patients with financial aid forms and direct patients to available resources to assist with payment Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Requirements At Least two years' experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting; documented experience in customer service with preference given to patient satisfaction responsibilities in health care.
Preferred:
Experience as team leader/supervisor in ambulatory care setting Strong understanding of Medicaid regulations, health insurance procedures, and medical terminology. Experience working with individuals from underserved communities. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) management systems. Excellent patient service skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations. Medical Assistant Certification through Washington State or Validation of military training that is equivalent to the Medical Assistant. Pay:
$25.25 - $34.95 per hour
