Job Description

Transports patients and related items safely, efficiently, and on time throughout the facility. Assists Radiologists and Technologists in exams and procedures across Radiology modalities. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Communicates professionally with staff, patients, and visitors. Functions independently and as a team member, often receiving direction by phone. Keeps work area clean, organized, and stocked; stores equipment and supplies properly. Requires full use of arms, hands, repetitive foot motion, overhead reaching, and trunk rotation. Involves continuous walking and movement. Works varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Performs additional duties as assigned, including: Assisting in invasive and non-invasive procedures Removing IVs Preparing sterile trays Handling, transferring, and transporting specimens Want to learn more about our Radiology Imaging practice?

Additional Qualifications Previous hospital, clinical, or patient care experience preferred. Requires excellent communication skills, telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients, guests and staff. Basic computer skills are required. Must be able to multitask and adapt to unpredictable situations. Must be able to complete the Mayo Clinic's New Employee Orientation and General Systems Training. Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and lift more than 50 pounds with assistance. Physically able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Requires upper and lower physical strength to be able to manage the pushing and pulling of stretchers with and without patients occupying them. License or Certification Successful completion of a BLS course within the first 6 months of employment. Completion of the Communications in Healthcare class within the first year of employment.
