Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Transporter to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves safely and efficiently transferring patients within hospital facilities, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient safety, excellent communication skills, and experience in healthcare or community care settings. As a Patient Transporter, you will play a crucial part in supporting clinical teams and enhancing patient experiences by providing reliable transportation services across various hospital departments. Responsibilities Safely transport patients to and from different hospital areas, including wards, diagnostic imaging, laboratories, and treatment units, adhering strictly to hospital safety protocols. Assist patients with mobility needs using proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques to prevent injury and ensure comfort. Follow infection control procedures and isolation precautions diligently to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to coordinate transportation schedules and address individual needs. Support patient safety measures by monitoring patient condition during transport and reporting any concerns or incidents promptly. Utilize appropriate equipment for heavy lifting and safe lifting practices to prevent injury during transfers. Maintain cleanliness of transport equipment and ensure all safety devices are functioning correctly before use. Skills Prior experience in home or community care, hospital settings, or medical transportation is highly desirable. Proficiency in patient transport techniques, manual handling, and patient transfer methods.
