Patient Transporter - Behavioral Health

Job Summary Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Patient Transporter specializing in Behavioral Health! In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, compassionate, and efficient transportation of patients within our Outpatient Program at iCan Think Positive Counseling and Coaching Services, LLC, focusing on individuals receiving mental health and behavioral care. Responsibilities Safely transport passengers to and from the organization with a focus on behavioral health needs Assist passengers with mobility, ensuring comfort and safety during transfers, including using proper lifting techniques and mobility aids Maintain clear communication with clinical staff to coordinate passengers movements and ensure timely arrivals for appointments Monitor passengers during transport for signs of distress or agitation, responding promptly to their needs Follow established protocols for infection control, passenger safety, and confidentiality throughout all transport activities Map route with the least amount of traffic and mileage Operate van to destination by following all traffic rules and regulations Support behavioral health staff by providing compassionate care that respects patient dignity and promotes a positive experience Requirements Extensive knowledge of drugs of abuse and dynamics of abuse/addictive behavior. Extensive knowledge of various therapeutic techniques utilized in interrupting dysfunctional behavior and lifestyles Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire Knowledge of CPI Knowledge of community resources Demonstrated ability to provide patient care with empathy, patience, and professionalism Experience working in hospital environments or critical care transport is preferred Knowledge of behavioral health considerations and safety protocols when working with mental health patients Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy loads safely and stand or walk for extended periods Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and support patient needs Ability to perform general checks and schedule maintenance on van Provide periodical checks to van to ensure van is in good working order Minimum Qualifications High school or equivalent Georgia Driver's License Driving record in good standings This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute positively to patient well-being while developing valuable skills in healthcare transportation.
