Job Details Description Location/Department:
Hospital - ER 7p-7a one night per week or 24hr/pp
Job Summary:
Performs clerical functions, assists with patient care and facilitates communications of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs registrations timely and efficiently with minimal errors made. Appropriate processes completed. Takes initiative to keep self updated on registration information. Communicates effectively to other team members and report to next shift. Completes logging of patients accurately and timely. Assures proper patient consent is obtained. Respects the rights of each patient and assures individual needs are met, treating each with considerate, respectful care. Assures safety of guests is maintained during visit. Demonstrates knowledge of and uses equipment appropriately and safely. Collects specimens accurately and timely, including labeling specimens correctly. Provides appropriate patient and family education. Assists with patient care as directed by RN. Transports patient safely and efficiently upon arrival and on discharge.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Able to operate basic office equipment & work on a computer Able to operate stretchers, wheelchairs, various electrical/battery-operated equipment
Education and Experience:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent No work experience required Current in BLS or completion at the next available offering
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, & use of hands May need to lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
