Transportation staff will arrive at the unit with the transport vehicle (i.e., stretcher or wheelchair) specified at the time of request, stop at the Nursing station to retrieve the chart and/or card, report to the patient's room, greet the patient by name, identify the patient by armband, and introduce themselves to the parents, patient, and nursing staff as appropriate. Assist the patient and/or nursing with the physical transfer of the patient onto the vehicle and transport the patient to the appointment. Bodies of deceased patients will be transported to the Morgue by transport personnel. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities, including: pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc. Must be able to read and write English. Standard hours: 16
Workdays:
Saturday-Sunday Shift start/end times: 3:00 p.m.- 11:30 p.m This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
