Job Description
Job Summary:
The Ambassador performs under the direct supervision of the Emergency Services Patient Care Coordinator and is responsible for greeting and assisting visitors and patients at the Emergency Department entrance following hospital and departmental policies while maintaining awareness for opportunities to promote the WE CARE Philosophy. The Ambassador is ultimately accountable to the Patient Care Manager and Director of Emergency Services.Performance Expectations:
Demonstrates ability to safely assist and transport customers of all ages/developmental levels. Demonstrate ability to follow safety precautions during patient transfer and transport to ensure the well-being of oneself, patients, and other staff members (i.e., avoids improper lifting, properly disposes of sharps, maintains infection control procedures, consistently cleans work area on own initiative to facilitate efficient work, and avoids damaging equipment). Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in all interactions with patients, families, visitors, and employees while achieving exceptional, sustained quality patient care, satisfaction, and loyalty. Demonstrates ability to respond to requests from patient care team members. Demonstrates ability to respond to patients when their condition worsens by appropriately and quickly alerting the RN and patient care team members. Education/Skills High school diploma or equivalent.Work Experience:
None required but preferably one year's experience in dealing with the public/customer service. Certification/Licensure-DUEUPON HIRE
