JOB RELATIONSHIPS
House Supervisor and/or Team Leader/Staff Nurse
DEFINITION OF POSITION
The patient safety observer is a member of the healthcare team. The observer is responsible for monitoring one or more assigned patients on a designated unit for a specific time period. The role of the observer is to monitor the patient for safety and assist with meeting limited patient needs under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Additionally, may assist with room turnover, emptying of trash, linen changes, personal protective equipment ( PPE) restocking and patient transport. Support the department staff as a resource runner and delivering needed items between departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional High school education or equivalent preferred. Must attain HeartSaver certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within first 6 months of employment in position and CPI refresher course every 2 years.
