Job Details Responsibilities:
Maintain visual observation at all times. Verbally redirects patient over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room. Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. First line of action is to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at risk behaviors Demonstrates understanding and proficiency of the use of the AvaSys Telesitter Solution Software. Seeks help or advice as soon as possible when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others. Participates in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues. Assures patient environment safety. Seeks assistance with removal of any potential safety hazard from room and reports findings to Charge Nurse. Participates in hand-off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment. Arranges meal break times with nurse and informs nurse prior to leaving monitoring station for any reason so that relief may be provided to ensure constant patient observation. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the appropriate care to this patient population based on the patient's individualized treatment plan as delegated by the RN. Seeks help from Nursing staff when appropriate. When 2 Telesitters are on duty will orient the patient to the room including the white board. When 2 Telesitters are on duty will ensures patient safety and that call bell is within reach. Performs purposeful hourly rounding using a script that includes the 3 P's. Provides patient with explanations as necessary, but does not counsel or provide opinions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. One (1) year of experience as a Nurse's Aide in a hospital environment is preferred. Ability to sit for prolong periods of time and view multiple screens BLS required Posted Salary Range USD $25.59 - USD $25.59 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
