Job Description Transports patients to and from various units as directed, safely and comfortably. Picks-up and delivers materials and/or equipment as needed. Job Responsibility Transports patients in wheel chairs or on stretchers to and from various units as directed. Responds to page promptly. Uses proper body mechanics during transfer and transport. Transports patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, as directed. Notifies staff upon arrival of patients. Reports any changes of patient's condition during transport to charge nurse. Ensures proper height is kept on I.V set-up when transporting patient. Uses Radiology information System (RIS) when applicable. Takes necessary steps to confirm patient's identity by checking ID bracelet.

Does not transport patients without ID bracelet.

Operates hospital elevator in necessary and appropriate manner. Promotes and maintains cleanliness and effective functioning of transport equipment. Reports defective wheelchairs and stretchers to Supervisor. Cleans transportation equipment. Picks up and delivers materials as directed within the Hospital promptly and accurately. Performs related duties as required. ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical setting, preferred. Good communication skills-fluent in English. Physical demand are constant walking, standing, stooping, bending, turning, lifting; Frequent stretching, pulling, pushing; Occasional sitting.
