SUMMARY:
Provides direct or indirect patient care in accordance with treatment plans as determined/delegated by a licensed nurse. Responsible to execute tasks and skills with quality and safe care. All interactions must be aligned with the overall expectation of a positive patient experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs cleaning of appropriate equipment, changing of bed linens, stocks appropriate supplies in the patient room/unit, and prepares rooms for anticipated admissions. Provide safe and competent care for patients with relationship to nutritional, skin integrity, elimination & hygiene needs including bathing, grooming, and patient comfort measures. Performs a wide variety of clinical duties under the direction/supervision of an RN. including but not limited to patient vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, finger stick glucose, and admission and discharge process. Perform correct procedures in the collection and disposition of some specimens. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, compassion and professionalism. Assist with safe ambulation, transferring, and demonstrates appropriate utilization of lift devices. Follows all safety initiatives for the department. Assist in post mortem care. Meets unit/department specific skills and competency expectations. Assist in timely and courteous responses to patient call lights and or any patient/family requests for assistance. Provides support to the unit/department setting through maintaining an area of focus and sustaining Career ladder expectations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum age requirement: 18 PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
High School or GED. 1 year experience in a Patient Care Technician role.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
