Akron City Part-Time, Benefit Eligible Schedule:

Summary:
Responsible for transporting patients to and from the radiology areas. Assists medical and technical staff in routine daily activities. Follow patient transport directions on a handheld device that is assigned and used during the shift. Takes direction from staff members to ensure patients receive their testing in a timely manner.
Formal Education Required:
a. High School diploma or equivalent b. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
Experience & Training Required:
a. Healthcare related experience preferred.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, and hospital employees. b. Proven ability to read and write English and follow written instructions. c. Must be able to use computer systems and basic Window applications, including proficiency with a mouse and bar code reader. d. Ability to calmly handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. e. Recognizes emergency situations. f. Excellent time-management skills. g.
Population Specific Competency:
Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. h. Ability to proficiently operate a handheld device (e.g. iPhone, cell phone, tablet etc.). i. Possess customer service and excellent interpersonal skills. j. Possess computer skills to complete mandatory training.
Level of Physical Demands:
a. Exerts 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects. b. Ability to lift and position patients, push, and pull heavy carts and to stand and walk for an entire shift. c. Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment from a stationary position. d.
