A Patient Transporter or Orderly moves hospital patients from one place to another and cleans equipment and facilities. May assist with basic care of patients such as feeding and dressing. Works in hospitals or in long-term care facilities.
This job provides support for staff and patient care within the assigned imaging department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assists technologists with preparing patients for procedures. (30%) Performs post-procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies. Assists with inventory control. (30%) Assists technologists with delivering and retrieving patient reports/imaging, entering data, in electronic medical records, import and export through appropriate means and methods. (20%) Provides nonclinical support to the department as necessary. (20%) Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one to three months' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred 1 year experience in medical office or imaging office setting.
