Responsibilities Under the supervision and direction of the dispatcher, the primary responsibility is to coordinate and physically transport patients into and within the hospital. The Patient Wheelchair Transporter safely transfers and accompanies patients to and from clinical and support areas utilizing wheelchairs and other mobility devices. In this role, you will also be required to communicate in a professional manner with patients, co-workers and healthcare staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Education/Experience Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent education and/or experience. Prior patient transport or healthcare experience a plus. Availability to

Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends may be required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to hospital staff, patients and other employees of the company.
