Job Description:
A coach is the tangible representation of Bridge's core values and seeks to bridge the gap between treatment and training. A coach leads workouts to Bridge standards during personal training sessions and small group classes. They will manage classes and individuals in a professional manner that promotes communication and builds trust between the coach and the clients. As a Bridge ambassador, a coach models a health-oriented lifestyle and fosters community and relationships within the gym. Part-Time (10-31 hours a week) Full-Time (32-40 hours a week) Required Qualifications Education Specialized fitness credential preferred or equivalent work experience or education in specialized function CPR and AED certification Experience (1+ years) Personal training Small group classes Customer service Train and modify movements for various fitness levels Identify client goals and needs Develops realistic and appropriate training programs Dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, etc. Knowledge Appropriate exercise prescription Movement standards and points of performance Movement scales and modifications Movement fault identification Appropriate cues for instruction and correction Familiarity with human anatomy General injury prevention, identification, and movement modifications Interviewing strategies for proper client goal identification and course charting Duties and Responsibilities Coaching Classes Meets Bridge coaching standards as delineated in the Bridge Coaching Rubric Leads workouts to Bridge standards and navigates the entire class experience from start to finish to suit all fitness levels Modifies and scales all workout components to meet the individual needs of the member Demonstrates and instructs safe and proper exercise technique Facilitates a collaborative relationship among all Bridge staff and members Reduces the likelihood of injury or aggravation of injuries by being knowledgeable of the injury sustained and directing appropriate warm-ups and training modifications Personal Training Identifies accurate and achievable goals to establish a fitness plan Develops and delivers comprehensive fitness programs based on individual client goals Educates clients on fitness tools available to assist them in achieving their goals Demonstrates and instructs safe and proper exercise techniques to clients Increase the number of member training sessions and attendance through strong teaching skills and the ability to connect with and motivate others with a wide variety of fitness levels Administration Arrives on time, prepared and enthusiastic, while being attentive to every training appointment, group class, and/or semi-private training session Participate and assist with new client acquisition procedures and or processes. Consultations with current and new prospective members Schedules personal training sessions and other appointments Creates and maintains a record of member and client experience and progress, and presents to supervisors Maintains equipment and facility standards Physical Requirements Ability to demonstrate the appropriate skills and techniques to be used by the clients Ability to visually monitor clients, including small group classes of up to 6-12 people Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment/boxes up to 50lbs Working Environment While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts The noise level in the environment is occasionally loud Extended workdays are a frequent occurrence, as are weekends and holidays, as needed to support the business
