About the Position Recreation Leaders support PRD's recreation-based after-school programs, including: Schoolmates (TK-5th Grade) Minimates (Transitional Kindergarten) The Hangout (4th5th Grade) Staff work collaboratively to provide a safe, engaging, and enriching environment through recreation, education, and social-emotional learning opportunities. What You'll Do Lead games, sports, artscrafts, STEM projects, and enrichment activities Supervise and actively engage participants Promote positive behavior and conflict resolution Ensure participant's safety and well-being Assist with attendance and program documentation Support walking trips, special events, and special projects Help maintain organized, welcoming program spaces Work collaboratively with staff, families, and school partners Our Ideal Candidate You are: Positive and energetic Dependable and professional Creative and enthusiastic A strong communicator Passionate about working with children A collaborative team player Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Six semester units in Child Development, Education, Recreation, or a related field OR 120 hours of verifiable related experience Two years of work or volunteer experience with youth Ability to supervise groups of children in recreational and educational settings Ability to work afternoons, occasional evenings, school breaks, and special events Ability to work indoors and outdoors and lift up to 20 pounds Available Program Shifts Minimates 8:00 AM-12:30 PM 12:30 PM-4:30 PM Schoolmates 1:30 PM-5:00 PM The Hangout 2:00 PM-5:30 PM Additional hours may be available during school breaks, staff training, and special events. Recreation Leader Classifications Recreation Leader I $17.00
- 18.50/hour Completion of 11th grade Some experience working or volunteering with youth Recreation Leader II $18.50
- 22.50/hour High school diploma or GED Two years of experience working with youth Recreation Leader III $22.00

00/hour Three or more years of progressively responsible youth-program experience College coursework in Education, Child Development, Recreation, or related field preferred Placement within the Recreation Leader series will be based on qualifications and experience.
