PERSONAL TRAINER

Fitness Director Job Summary:
The primary focus of this position is being available and offering personal training services to Club members and nonmembers. All personal trainers are to demonstrate Parkpoint's Mission (see above) and Core Values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Community and Health and Well Being at all times. This includes cultivating a welcoming, non-threatening workout environment for all members of all ages and fitness levels; attending to member safety; responding to members' questions and concerns as well as overseeing equipment; its safety, cleanliness and proper operation. Be a knowledgeable and accessible resource for members. Be friendly, upbeat, outgoing, a committed team player and establish a good rapport with all members and staff. Respond with personable, pro-active, win-win, solution-oriented customer service to all members and in all situations. Complete all specific cleaning as instructed. Acquiring clients through personable, consistent service and outreach is essential and encouraged. Aggressive, competitive sales tactics are not acceptable. If and when regular Fitness Floor shifts are assigned, personal training is to be scheduled during off-shift hours only - training on shift is not allowed without specific permission of the Club Manager.
Personal Trainer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Schedule appointments with clients per procedures; advise them on the best training package to purchase to meet their needs; assist them in purchasing the correct package. Meet with clients and have them complete and receive a copy of the Trainer Client Agreement form before beginning their training sessions. Arrive punctually for all training sessions. Begin and end all sessions on time. Follow all guidelines of your national certification in training your clients. Design appropriate, safe and effective workouts to meet client's current health and fitness needs; set appropriate goals; motivate and provide proper instruction to ensure the client's success. When personal training, one-on-one personal attention to the client is the primary focus. Awareness of other members and their needs is still required on an as needed basis. Be a representative of the Parkpoint Club in all member interactions. Promoting and/or advertising outside programs, whether business or personal, is strictly prohibited. Comply with all personal trainer procedures to make sure clients have appropriate packages on their account prior to scheduling sessions, confirm payroll, and any other procedures required by the Fitness Director or Club Manager. Fitness floor shifts as needed to assist members, provide orientations, organize equipment, promote gym etiquette, and maintain a positive workout environment. Trainers are compensated for training sessions completed with clients at a specified session rate depending on the length and type of the session. Timesheet record keeping, session scheduling, and session-related member interactions are considered administrative time and are compensated at the hourly minimum wage rate. The expectation of reasonable time to complete administrative activities is currently 10 minutes maximum per completed session and any additional time must be pre-approved by the Fitness Director. This administrative time may occur before or after sessions or may be used cumulatively on a daily basis. By accepting is offer all trainers acknowledge and comply with the current Compensation, Administrative Time and Record Keeping Policies . Repeated violations of the expected Admin time allotments without prior approval could result in disciplinary action.
Job Qualifications/Requirements/Certifications:
Strong fitness background and knowledge required Friendly, outgoing, positive personality Excellent customer service skills and a professional manner Excellent communication skills: English speaking, writing and reading required Current up-to-date certification from a nationally recognized organization is required to conduct Personal Training. Examples of recognized organizations include but are not limited to
A.C.E., A.C.S.M., N.A.S.M., N.S.C.A.
Parkpoint reserves the right to determine if the certifications held meet the required national standards. High School Diploma required / Undergraduate degree in a related field preferred Current certifications in AED and CPR Maintain current Anti-Harassment certification Able to stand for up to 6 hours; demonstrate use of equipment and exercises; kneel; bend and twist from the waist; reach overhead; lift, push and pull 25 - 50 pounds. Able to use cleaning/sanitizing products. Must have reliable transportation. on.
