Aerobic Instructor Water Aerobics

PART TIME OPENING

Glenwood Hot Springs Resort is seeking Fitness Instructors to teach Water Aerobics. Morning availability is required. Membership to the Athletic Club and Pool is included!

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Provide motivating and fun group fitness instruction to help guests reach fitness goals. Monitor and educate members and guests on fitness and safety. Maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants. Maintain exceptional guest service at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Adequate physical agility to perform the physical tasks required to lead fitness classes. Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 45 lbs. Ability to sit, stand, twist, bend and kneel. Ability to communicate verbally and read instructions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, and/or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be frequently required to climb or balance, stretch, reach, touch, stoop, kneel, jump, lunge, crouch, or crawl. Must have ability to aide or assist participants. Specific vision abilities required by this job include being able to see participants, equipment used and area of use. The employee must have a high degree of energy, be physically fit, and have the endurance to complete the workout.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Certifications appropriate to fitness classes being taught. Additional specialty/certifications preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge and ability to implement group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, rhythm, choreography and music skills in classes where this is required. Strong knowledge and practice of safe fitness practices in classes instructor teaches. Knowledge of athletic equipment safety procedures.
