ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the fitness/wellness supervisor, perform duties related to instructing and leading individuals in fitness activities. The goal of the Fitness Instructor is to effect positive change in people's life style through exercise and wellness education. Prefer previous experience instructing group exercise and fitness/wellness programs. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with participants, and co-workers. Ability to reason, problem solve and resolve conflicts effectively. Must have a good work ethic; be reliable, on time and dependable. Ensures all possible safety measures are observed. Communicates and enforces facility and class policies and procedures. Responds to emergency situations as required and maintains accurate accident and incident reports. Provides excellent customer service, including interacting with participants to answer questions and resolve problems. Reports any issues and concerns to supervisor. Demonstrates fitness to perform all activities for the duration of the class.
