Job Description

Group Fitness Instructor Salary range: $40-$48 Hourly Rate (s alary ranges and salary determination is based on experience & qualifications) Trinity Washington University seeks a dynamic, high-energy part-time Group Fitness Instructor to lead a variety of group classes in Trinity's Fitness Studio. Those classes include, but are not limited to the following: Yoga, Zumba, Kickboxing, Personal Training, HITT, Boot Camp and Dance Fitness.
Responsibilities:
Lead and instruct participants on aerobic and toning exercises based on the class offered. Ensure patron safety. Teach in an enthusiastic and energetic manner. Educate class participants on correct form and alternate moves during the fitness routine. Plan classes around the skill levels of the participants. Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to member needs and concerns. Ensure the exercise space and equipment are in working order; inform Trinity Center Director if equipment is missing or new equipment is needed for program. Complete records and reports as instructed. Enforce all Trinity Center facility policies, rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
Have at least 1 year of Group Fitness Instruction experience Have at least a High school diploma or GED Must have an active & valid Fitness certification Must have an active & valid CPR certification Have a nationally accredited group exercise certification (e.g.
AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NETA
) Have liability insurance (or obtain it before employment) Have a Yoga-Fit Level 1 certification, with a complete 200-hour yoga certification, highly preferred.
Work Schedule:
The working schedule is flexible since Trinity offers morning classes and evening classes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Excellent customer service skills, energetic and enthusiastic. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with members and clients. Ability to lead and motivate large instructional group fitness classes. Ability to perform exercises specific to the assigned class. Ability to arrive on time for work and notify the appropriate individual in advance if you're unable to teach your class. Extensive knowledge of group fitness programs and practicing safe exercising techniques.
