Job Description
AC Health & Fitness is seeking an experienced, energetic, and compassionate Personal Trainer / Group Exercise Instructor to provide fitness and wellness services within senior living communities, active adult communities, and wellness-focused residential settings. The ideal candidate is a skilled fitness professional who can create a welcoming and engaging environment while safely leading group exercise classes and individual training sessions for participants with varying fitness levels, mobility limitations, and health conditions. This individual should be confident adapting exercises in real time, providing appropriate modifications, and helping participants achieve their health and wellness goals in a safe and supportive manner. Responsibilities Lead engaging group fitness classes, including but not limited to strength training, balance and mobility, chair exercise, chair yoga, stretching, dance fitness, and Tai Chi. Provide one-on-one personal training and wellness coaching as needed. Assess participant abilities and modify exercises to accommodate varying physical, cognitive, and functional levels. Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive atmosphere that promotes participation and confidence. Ensure all classes and training sessions are conducted safely and in accordance with industry best practices. Build positive relationships with residents, community staff, and participants. Arrive prepared, professional, and ready to deliver a high-quality fitness experience. Monitor participant progress and provide appropriate encouragement and feedback. Maintain accurate attendance records and complete required documentation when applicable. Qualifications Current nationally recognized fitness certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, ISSA, or equivalent). Current CPR/AED certification. Previous experience teaching group exercise classes and/or providing personal training services. Strong knowledge of exercise programming, movement mechanics, and injury prevention. Ability to confidently modify exercises for individuals with mobility limitations, orthopedic conditions, chronic health conditions, and varying fitness levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned community locations. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with older adults, active aging populations, or special populations. Certifications or experience in senior fitness, chair yoga, Tai Chi, balance training, fall prevention, or corrective exercise. Experience working in independent living, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation, or healthcare settings.
