Job Description

The Fitness Center at the Buffalo Grove Park District is looking for energetic and talented Group Exercise Instructors to lead a variety of Group Exercise classes. This person should be able to maintain a positive working attitude with other instructors, staff and members. We are especially seeking instructors with experience in: Aqua Fitness, Barre, Senior Fitness / Active Aging Classes, and Cycle. Other formats are also welcome, including strength, cardio, cycle, yoga, Pilates, dance, HIIT, and more.
Essential Functions:
1. Lead high quality classes that match the class description, and meet members' needs. Is able to program, deliver and adapt based on the class participants. 2. Must find a sub if unable to teach a scheduled class; willing and available to sub for other instructors when needed. 3. Attend any department meetings, read and respond to all e-mail communications in a timely manner. 4. Arrive to class early to set up equipment and room, check in participants, and clean up afterwards. 5. Establish relationships with participants to build class participation. Maintain a minimum average of 8 participants per class. 6. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience 1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent 2. Maintain a current Group Exercise Instructor Certification from ACE, AFFA or AEA 3. Maintain a current CPR Certification 4. Minimum of two years teaching experience Salary Rate $27+ per class, depending on experience Benefits Free Fitness Center pass for employees who work 8 hours or more per week, along with other discounts towards Park District programs. dCcsabqH6o
