Leads fitness and exercise classes at a community center, club or pool. Teaches aerobics, water, strength building or other exercises and maintains equipment.

Job Description
Company Overview At Amara , we're on a mission to help people live healthier, happier, and more connected lives. We offer health and wellness classes—starting with expert-led group fitness—and are expanding into areas like nutrition, mental well-being, and preventive care . Our programs are delivered directly in large residential communities (200+ units) , making wellness more accessible by eliminating transportation and scheduling barriers. We also work closely with building partners and insurance providers to keep classes as low-cost as possible for participants —including the option to use FSA/HSA funds and insurance reimbursement —so residents can focus on their health, not the paperwork. Amara also includes a companion app that enhances the in-person experience with personalized wellness tips, exercises, and progress tracking. This supports participants in achieving both their personal goals and class-specific outcomes . Currently, we offer three signature fitness formats: A full-body cardio class A functional strength and stability class A stretching and balance class with yoga-inspired elements We're excited to expand on this foundation as we grow. We're launching new locations in Chicago and looking for exceptional instructors to lead the way.

withamara.com What You'll Do Lead fun, interactive group classes (strength, balance, mobility) for our vibrant community. Bring warmth, humor, and energy to every class — your personality is part of the experience! Adapt exercises to meet participant needs, ensuring safety and accessibility. Build relationships that go beyond fitness — our classes are about connection and joy. Track attendance and simple class outcomes (we'll show you how). Participate in paid training and share feedback to help us improve. The role will begin with approximately 4 hours per week , with the potential for additional hours as we expand into new locations and grow our community. You Should Apply If You... Are a certified fitness Instructor in Illinois . Able to teach a full body cardio class, strength class and yoga/stretching class Enjoy teaching in group settings and thrive in a social environment. Know how to make movement feel good for all body types and abilities. Believe that fitness can (and should!) be joyful and empowering at any age. Have CPR and First Aid certification. Extra Awesome If You Have... Experience with older adults. Taught classes like strength training, fall prevention, or functional movement.
