Reviews health and fitness goals, teaches correct and safe exercise technique, monitors progress and provides encouragement for clients. Leads fitness and exercise classes at a community center, club or pool. Teaches aerobics, water, strength building or other exercises and maintains equipment.
Job Overview Lumberjack Athletics is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and community-focused Fitness Coach to join our team in Sheffield, MA . We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people improve their health, fitness, and confidence while creating a positive and welcoming training environment. As a coach, you'll lead group fitness classes, teach proper movement mechanics, provide individualized modifications when needed, and build meaningful relationships with our members. Whether someone is stepping into a gym for the first time or has years of experience, our goal is to help every athlete become the best version of themselves. Responsibilities Coach group fitness classes in a safe, energetic, and professional manner. Demonstrate and teach proper movement mechanics while providing appropriate modifications for all fitness levels. Foster a welcoming, encouraging, and inclusive community. Build relationships with members and provide ongoing motivation and accountability. Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled classes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment. Assist with onboarding new members and introductory sessions as needed. Support gym events, community activities, and member retention initiatives. Communicate effectively with ownership and fellow coaches. Represent Lumberjack Athletics with professionalism and integrity. Qualifications Previous coaching, personal training, group fitness instruction, or leadership experience is preferred. A current fitness certification (CrossFit, NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA, etc.) is preferred but not required. The right candidate can receive training through our coaching development process. CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, coachable, and self-motivated.
