If you answered yes to these questions, then you should know Congressional Country Club is seeking a Part-Time Group Fitness Instructor . The Group Fitness Instructor will lead safe, effective, and engaging group exercise classes while motivating members and guests of all fitness levels to achieve their personal wellness goals. Congressional Country Club is looking for Team Members who believe the impossible is possible, are driven to continuously make a positive impact on the organization, and believe that as a team, we accomplish more. What will be expected of you: Design and lead safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes appropriate for participants of varying fitness levels. Begin and end scheduled classes on time while providing appropriate warm-ups, exercises, stretching, and cool-downs. Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and provide clear verbal and visual instruction. Incorporate music, tempo, rhythm, and effective cueing techniques into each class. Motivate participants to challenge themselves while providing encouragement, constructive feedback, and modifications when needed. Educate participants on effective workout methods, muscle groups, and proper techniques for strengthening and conditioning. Prepare the equipment, music, and materials needed for each class. Answer participant questions and create a welcoming, positive, and supportive exercise experience. Maintain a working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles. Follow all Club and department policies, safety standards, and emergency procedures. Keep management informed of member feedback and facility or equipment needs.
How we determine your qualifications:
Current certification from a nationally recognized organization, such as ACSM, NSCA, ACE, or AFAA. Current CPR and AED certification. At least one year of experience as a Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer in a gym, fitness facility, or private club setting. An undergraduate degree in physical education, exercise physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, or a related field is preferred. Strong communication, motivational, and customer-service skills. Ability to safely demonstrate exercises and adapt instruction to accommodate different fitness levels.
