a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb;}tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6;}tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5;} Aquatics Instructor (Contract Position) Position Summary Covenant Village, a continuing care retirement community, is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Aquatics Instructor to provide engaging and effective water fitness classes for residents. This contract-based opportunity is ideal for an individual who is passionate about health and wellness, enjoys working with older adults, and is committed to helping seniors maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. The Aquatics Instructor will develop and lead safe, effective water fitness programs that promote physical well-being, mobility, strength, and social engagement for residents aged 65 and older. Essential Responsibilities Plan, develop, and lead water fitness classes appropriate for senior adults and varying fitness levels. Design and modify aquatic exercise programs to accommodate individual participant needs, limitations, and health conditions. Create a welcoming, safe, and encouraging environment for all participants. Promote the health and wellness benefits of regular aquatic exercise and active living. Monitor participants during classes to ensure proper exercise techniques and safety practices. Maintain accurate wellness and participation records as required. Follow all community policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the aquatic area and related equipment. Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and wellness team members. Respond appropriately to emergencies and safety concerns within the scope of training and certification. Support special wellness programs, resident events, and health promotion initiatives as assigned.

Monday:
2:15 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday:

Knowledge of exercise physiology and aquatic fitness principles. Understanding of health promotion and wellness practices. Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures. Ability to create a safe and effective exercise environment. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to demonstrate and teach aquatic exercises clearly and safely. Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and resident engagement.
Education, Experience & Certifications Preferred:
Minimum of six (6) months of experience teaching aquatic fitness or group exercise classes.
Certifications:
Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain one of the following certifications: Water Aerobics Instructor Certification Group Fitness Instructor Certification Personal Trainer Certification No certification? No problem. Covenant Village will assist qualified instructors in obtaining a Water Aerobics Instructor Certification within the first 90 days of the contract period. Physical Requirements Ability to demonstrate aquatic exercises in a pool environment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout class instruction. Ability to lift and move light fitness equipment as needed. Ability to work in a warm, humid pool environment. Why Join Covenant Village?
