Description:
A boutique, fully equipped Classical Pilates studio in Old Tappan, NJ, is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and Classically trained Pilates Instructor to join our growing team. We are looking for an instructor to help fill existing client slots and take on an influx of new clients for both Private Sessions and Small Group Mat Classes . Our studio is deeply committed to preserving the integrity of the original method developed by Joseph Pilates. If you are dedicated to the Classical system, love working in a focused, high-energy environment, and want to help clients achieve longevity and strength, we would love to meet you.
Responsibilities:
Teach high-quality, safe, and effective Private (1:1) sessions and Classical Mat classes tailored to individual client needs. Utilize the full suite of Classical apparatus (Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, etc.) to design progressive, systematic sessions. Assess client bodies, track their progress, and safely guide them through appropriate progressions and modifications (including prenatal, athletic, and injury recovery adjustments). Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming studio environment. Build lasting relationships with clients through excellent communication and a supportive teaching style.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Classically Trained:
Comprehensive certification from a recognized Classical education program (minimum 600-750+ hours of training, observation, and performance).
Experience:
Prior teaching experience is preferred, but passionate recent graduates of comprehensive Classical programs are welcome to apply! Strong interpersonal skills and a reliable, professional work ethic. Must be available for early morning, evening, or weekend blocks (schedule can be discussed).
