$15.92 - $42.00 per hour Job description: JCC MetroWest in West Orange, New Jersey is seeking part-time Certified Personal Trainers to provide training and open/cover/close the Fitness Center.Available shifts are:
Saturdays 7:45am to 4pm Sundays 7:45am to 4pm Cover other weekday morning/evening shifts as needed if available Teach group exercise classes if applicable Reporting to the Personal Training Manager, Certified Personal Trainers will deliver exciting and personalized experience to our members. Assessing their clients' bodily strengths, weaknesses and creating customized workout plans. Trainers also provide physical and mental guidance and monitor clients' progress on a regular basis. All staff are expected to comply with the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Kindness, Teamwork and Communication. Different hourly rates apply for different duties: $42 per hour for Studio Group Exercise Class with Group Fitness Instructor Certification $40 for 60-minute small group personal training (3-12 participants) $34 for 60-minute individual training $20 for 30-minute group training $17 for 30-minute individual training and for fitness floor supervisor shifts $15.92 per hour for staff training and meetings The primary duties of a Certified Personal Trainer include, but are not limited to: Provide personal training to members: Take the initiative in enrolling current and potential members into our training program. Assist clients in setting specific and attainable fitness goals. Deliver fitness assessments and equipment orientations. Have working knowledge of all machines, fitness equipment technology, Bluetooth and other connections. Maintain a continuous presence on the fitness floor. Deliver one-on-one and Small Group Training. Design programs based on clients' capabilities, preferences, limitations, and goals. Observe clients and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill and physical improvement. Serve as Fitness Attendant, as scheduled: Serve as a first responder in emergency situations and follow emergency protocols set by the JCC. Respond to safety codes and, if needed, administer CPR/AED services to a member. Provide customer service through interacting with members, assisting with spotting, educating members on how to use the equipment and answering questions. Ensure the fitness areas (fitness floor, group exercise studios, personal training studios, basketball court, and indoor track) remain clean and organized by alerting the JCC housekeeping team if areas need cleaning. Walking the floor frequently to ensure all machines and audio-visual systems are working. Tidying away dumbbells, free weights. bars and accessories; disinfecting/cleaning fitness equipment and restocking equipment cleaning supplies.Provide wellness services to members:
- Undergo JCC training and deliver wellness programs including body composition analyses, new member health coaching programs.
Administrative:
- Perform opening/closing procedures for fitness center.
- Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled.
- Training on JCC membership systems to monitor client information and sessions.
- Assist clients with submission of Personal Training Agreement forms.
- Clock in and out of timecard system or mobile phone application.
- Communicate effectively via email and mobile phone as needed.
- Attend all department meetings and related events.
- Responsible for shift coverage when taking time off.
- Other duties as required.
