Group Fitness Instructor — Infrared Mat Studio (Independent Contractor) Soaked Studio LLC West Orange, NJ Job Details Contract $45.20 - $55.00 an hour 21 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Free fitness classes Qualifications Coaching Small group instruction Teaching Full Job Description Job Summary Soaked Studio is a brand-new boutique fitness studio opening Fall 2026 in West Orange, NJ, offering infrared heated and non-heated mat-based group fitness classes in an intimate, 15-mat space. We're building our founding instructor team now and looking for certified, energetic instructors to lead small-group classes in a beautifully designed, brand-new studio. Pay is $50/hour, which includes class setup and post-class cleanup time not just teaching time. Flexible scheduling across 7 daily class slots, Monday through Saturday. Responsibilities Arrive early to set up the studio space, mats, and any equipment needed before each class Check members in for class and confirm attendance against bookings Lead 45-minute group mat classes (heated infrared and non-heated formats) for up to 15 participants Guide members through movement, form correction, and pacing appropriate to class level Create an energizing, welcoming atmosphere for members at every experience level Clean and reset the studio after each class for the next session (mats, props, floor, general tidiness) Communicate professionally with studio management regarding scheduling, availability, and any member concerns Maintain punctuality and reliability for all scheduled classes — pay covers full setup-through-cleanup time, not just teaching Requirements Certified in group fitness, Pilates, or mat-based movement (Balanced Body, ACE, NASM, or equivalent) Comfortable teaching in a heated room environment Reliable, punctual, and genuinely energized by small-group coaching Prior class-teaching experience preferred but not required open to strong new grads CPR/AED certification preferred Hiring Process Candidates will be asked to teach a short trial class as part of the interview process, so we can see your teaching style and energy in the room before making an offer.
