The City of Dublin is proud to possess a team of highly trained and passionate Water Fitness Instructors who are dedicated to teaching patrons on effective workout methods, explaining and demonstrating proper techniques of exercises, identifying different muscle groups and teaching appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. Under the direction of the Aquatics Program Coordinator, these specialty instructors lead aquatic group fitness classes in a safe and positive environment that promotes the City of Dublin core values. The indoor pools at the Dublin Community Recreation Center operate year round, while the Dublin Community North and South outdoor pools are open during the summer season. The scheduling process is very flexible and we offer a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends. All certifications achieved belong to the team member. Discounted/free employee participation in select City events (Memorial Golf Tournament, Dublin Irish Festival, etc.) Uniforms provided Career mapping and growth opportunities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist in the development, planning and organization of your classes Assist patrons, answer questions, and maintain a positive exercise experience for members and class participants Teach scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time Provide adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching and cool down time Provide competent and safe instruction to all participants Teach with encouragement and positive reinforcement Set-up any needed equipment prior to class and clean up equipment at the conclusion of class Minimum Qualifications Current Aquatics Exercise Association (AEA) certification, or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire Current certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid, or ability to obtain certification within thirty (30) days of hire Preferred Qualifications Prior experience teaching and/or participating in Water Fitness classes/programs
